Von Grime zu Bildungsauftrag

Grime MC Kano hat unlängst in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Britischen Erziehungsminister Ed Balls (Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families; Labour Party) den Track "More Than One Way" und eine dazugehörige Fernsehwerbung veröffentlicht, um damit eine neue Bildungsinitiative der Regierung Brown zu bewerben.



Konkret geht es dabei um ein spezielles Diplom für 14 bis 19jährige, das eine akademische mit einer praktischen Ausbildungen verbinden soll. Genauere Informationen finden sich auf der Website des Ministeriums bzw. auf der Web-Präsenz des Projekts.

Die dort kolportierte Motivation von Kano, entspricht ganz dem Refrain des Tracks:

I want kids to know that there are different ways of succeeding. Studying the Diploma is one of them – but there are lots of other education routes and everyone needs to know what their options are so they can make the best choice for themselves.

Das klingt affirmativ und eingängig, so wie diese sanfte Produktion samt jugendlichem Chorgesang.
